Federação Brasileira das Associações de síndrome de Down (FBASD), together with its 38 member institutions, have launched their COVID vaccination prioritisation campaign.

The federation of Brazilian Down syndrome organisations are working together to raise awareness of the need to prioritise people with Down syndrome in the country's COVID-vaccination programme.

DSi made a grant to FBASD to support this campaign as part of our COVID-19 response project, with funding from UK aid from the UK government and Disabled People's Organisations Denmark (DPOD), via the International Disability Alliance's COVID-19 Pooled Fund.

The campaign's objective is to pressure all governmental spheres: federal, district, state and municipal governments so that people with Down syndrome are vaccinated immediately, taking into account the vulnerability, the risk of contamination, the low immunity and probability of develop a severe form of Covid-19.

DSi has recently developed a COVID-19 vaccination advocacy toolkit, to support other organisations to run their own COVID-19 vaccination advocacy campaigns.
