Earlier this month Down Syndrome Australia announced that Claire Mitchell has accepted a position on the Down Syndrome Australia Board as an Independent Director.

Claire said, "I am passionate about people with Down syndrome having their voices heard. It is an honour to be a director on the Down Syndrome Australia board and I feel very proud and excited to have this opportunity. I believe I can make a difference by sharing my opinions and experiences. Through listening to everyone’s thoughts and opinions and by getting all the facts, I hope I can assist to support and advocate for people with Down syndrome. I will try to do my best to contribute in any way I can."

Claire is currently the Queensland representative on the Down Syndrome Advisory Network and chair of the QLD Down Syndrome Advisory Network. She is a confident public speaker and presents to university students and different organisations.

We would like to take this opportunity to offer Claire our congratulations and we look forward to hearing much more from Claire in the near future.
