The Down Syndrome Society of Bangladesh (DSSB) has been working hard to connect self-advocates for distance learning during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Throughout the pandemic, DSSB has offered online classes and training to students with Down syndrome in their community. However, they identified some students from underprivileged communities who could not attend as they did not have access to digital devices.

DSSB were delighted to be able to distribute mobile phones to these students.

Sumaya, Shahariar, Alvee, Shihab and Nuruzzaman were very happy and proud to receive the mobile phones.

The phones will give these students access to learning which is important to develop their skills during and beyond the pandemic.

Later the same day, DSSB conducted an online Advocacy planning session which the students were delighted to attend using their new phones.
